Bruce McCulley Named New General Manager for Whiteface Ski Center


The Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA) has named Bruce McCulley the new General Manager for Whiteface Ski Center, located in Wilmington, NY. McCulley is replacing Jay Rand, who will become the new Executive Director of the New York Ski Educational Foundation (NYSEF) on September 3.

McCulley has worked at Whiteface since 1981. He fstarted as a lift operator and snowmaker, moving into the supervisory and foreman positions during his career. In 1996 McCulley was promoted to Assistant General Manager. He has held that position he until his recent appointment as General Manager.

“Bruce has shown dedication and leadership at Whiteface earning the respect of his peers and from our patrons using the facilities,” said Ted Blazer, ORDA President/CEO. “He is the perfect person to follow in the shoes of Jay and I have complete faith in his abilities to keep Whiteface in the forefront of skiing and riding.”

I see Whiteface as the centerpiece of this region, and am privileged to work with a great team, which will ensure the future success of the mountain,” stated McCulley. “The beauty and stature of Whiteface certainly stand out as our greatest assets, and this combined with the excellent staff is a winning combination. I look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead.”

Whiteface Mountain will host the 2010 US Alpine Ski Championship March 20 - 23.
